Scenery Hire FAQs

What days do hires start?

We’re flexible, they can start on any day of the week as long as there’s availability.

Is there a set hire period?

Hires are generally by the week. Additional days are not a problem however and are costed on a pro rata basis.

Do you have a minimum hire period?

You can hire our scenery for any number of days but please be aware that our minimum hire charge is for 7 days.

Are the dates booked out inclusive of delivery and collection?

Yes, you must include the dates you want the hired items delivered and collected as part of your hire period. There may be a charge for late collection if additional costs are incurred.

How many people will be needed for the get in and get out?

Delivery and collection are carried out by one driver/technician. They will need help to unload/load and to set up/strike the set. The more help the better but we ask for a minimum of 4 able bodied people for our Little Shop of Horrors hire set, plants and props package and 6 able bodied people for our Shrek and Guys and Dolls hire sets. This applies to both delivery and collection.

How long should we allow for the get in and get out?

With plenty of help, as a general rule you could allow up to 2 hours for the get in and around 1-2 hours for the get out.

Do you offer assistance with the get in?

Yes. Our driver/technician will stay for a maximum of 2 hours to instruct and assist you in putting up the set with your organised help. They will also show you how to operate our puppets and props.

Is insurance included in the hire charge?

No. You are required to take out insurance to cover the full replacement value of the hired items whilst in your possession. We will advise you of this sum when confirming your booking.

Can we organise our own transport?

Yes you’re welcome to organise your own transport. We can advise on the size of vehicle required. Most of our scenery will fit in a Luton box van. You will be required to take out Goods in Transit cover to the full replacement value of the hire items being transported. We will advise you of this sum when confirming your booking.

What are your payment terms?

A non refundable deposit of 50% of the hire charge (excluding transport cost) is required to secure a booking. The balance payment including transport cost, is required prior to the hire start date.

How do I pay?

Our preferred method of payment is by bank transfer. You’ll find our bank details on the invoice. Otherwise we accept payment by cheque. Please make cheques payable to Scenetec Ltd.
